To be honest, it wasn't my idea either. Bogro gave me the idea and Mr.Painterelf helped me making it.

Men noemde deze “centuriatio”.

Here is some information that goes with the Agrimensor.

AGRIMENSOR
The Roman legions were, during their conquests accompanied by agrimensors (landsurveyors?).
The conquered area was diveded by them and given to the veterans, the colonists, the state and the locals according tot a model of approximately 710 x 710 meter or a surface of about 50 ha, which in it’s turn was devided. Thus thelandscape was devided in squares over honderds of thousands of acres. These were called “centuriatio”. This way was used at every expansion of the Roman Empire. Thanks to the taking of airfoto’s of Tunesia, the excistence of almost one and a half miljoen acres devided according to the principle of the centuriatio, were discovered. The main reason of this activity was aimed at the foodsupply of the legions.
In Orange plates of marble have been discovered where the centuriatio were visible. These “forma” where the base of cadastral registration. (Sorry for the crude and incomplete translation, maybe some one else can complete it for me).
