It's not unusual to see a film set somewhere in Newport. Although seeing the Cybermen in the cemetery was pretty spooky
I'd love to see it being filmed! Did you meet David Tennant when they were filming?

Wow. Would love to see it being filmed.
There have been a few shaky episodes this series but it looks as though it is building up to a really gripping finale.
cheers

It would be great fun seeing them shoot - you are lucky Rio!

I thought 'The Lodger' was back on form, and was sad when I realised it was in effect the last normal episode in the series before the grande finale. It has been a mixed bag, but I do like the new doctor and Amy Pond. In a way Matt Smith seems to complete the character David Tenant had created - being more natural in a way and bringing with it a new element of alienness - of being different, which was used to great effect in The Lodger.

I love Amy Pond and was therefore surprised I wasn't as emotionally involved in the first part of the Grande Finale as I have been with other episodes (e.g. with Rose). Maybe it's suffering predictability - perhaps unavoidable - especially when you have too much of a good thing. I'm hoping however the next series will be fully back in the groove - and am surprised at how quickly this new series has come and gone. As Russell T Davies said recently, 13 episodes is not enough!

It only just dawned on me watching the last episode that River was a replacement for Captain Jack's role in previous series

I had not thought of River in that way. Her character gives a bit of depth to the series. I think Amy's death was not really moving because we all suspect that she will come back. I felt more sympathy for poor plastic Rory.
cheers

I did meet David Tennant whilst they were filming. He was really friendly and signed a few posters for the local shops in the market.
Also met some of the cast of Torchwood

He also was just 5 minutes walk from my house. Newport has it's own Tardis with a colourful scarf painted on it. It's been talked about knocking it down because it has concrete cancer but we've got a grant for about £10,000 to help repair it

I haven't seen last weeks one yet. I'll wait until this Saturday and then watch them together.

£10,000 to repair! How much does concrete cost?

...but then I'm forgetting the inside

Some news of the forthcoming Christmas special coming through. The guest star is another singer - this time from Wales - Katherine Jenkins. It's going to be a twist on 'A Christmas Carol'.

I just found that when I was looking for an episode guide. Sounds great. A combination of three things I love, Dr Who, Dickens and Christmas.
Cheers
